Live Bear Caught on Sneznik

Ljubljana, 31 May - SLOVENIA/ITALY/BEAR
Experts of the Institute for Forests of Slovenia caught a live bear on Mount Sneznik on 26 May. The 4-year-old male will be transported to his new habitat in Italy's Dolomite Alps together with a 3-year old female that was caught in the Kocevje region on 29 May. Both animals, weighing 99 and 55 kilos respectively, will be taken to Italy under a EU-supported Live Project for re-colonisation, the institute reported.
