Dr. Klingemann: Election Threshold Should be Raised to Five Percent

Responding to current debates about amendments to the Slovene electoral system, leaders of the National Assembly and the Slovene-German Friendship Society organised Tuesday a lecture by renowned European expert in political science and a researcher of the German electoral system, prof. Hans-Dieter Klingemann. Dealing with the topic "Democratic Development, Electoral Systems and Elections", Klingemann said the election threshold in Slovenia should be raised to five percent, while the system of distributing parliamentary seats should be simplified.
