Amnesty International Slovenia expressed its concern about police violence in the United States in a petition presented to U.S. ambassador in Slovenia Nancy Halliday Ely-Raphel on Monday. The ambassador is to deliver the petition to U.S. President Bill Clinton during his visit in Slovenia on 21-22 June. In the petition, AI Slovenia calls on the President to do all within his power to establish a supervisory body for the police service and the respect of international standards for human rights in the United States.
