Customs Officials Announce Strike
Ljubljana, 15 June - CUSTOMS/STRIKE
The Customs Officials Trade Union (SCS) announced it would go on strike on 28 August to protest the parliamentary finance and monetary policy committee's amendments to the customs bill that significantly reduces the rights and powers of customs officials in Slovenia. The union informed Parliament Speaker Janez Podobnik and Finance Minister Mitja Gaspari with the planned strike and its strike demands on Monday. According to union leader Dusan Bremec there has yet been no response from the government.
