Road Safety Deteriorates in Slovenia
Ljubljana, 16 June - Safety conditions on Slovene roads rapidly deteriorated in the last couple of months. Eight persons died in car crashes this weekend alone, although the rise is characteristic for July and August according to police records. Roads claimed 141 lives since 1 January as compared to 149 in the same period last year. But the statistics is more severe for June as the death toll in the first two weeks was 24 compared to 14 last year.
