Weekly Review of Events in Slovenia from 19 through 25 June
Ljubljana, 26 June - The central event this week was the visit by U.S. President Bill Clinton to Slovenia, which at the same time was the first visit by an American president here. On the same day, Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic arrived in Slovenia for a two-day working visit. Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek paid an official visit to Egypt and a working visit to Spain. Foreign Minister Boris Frlec attended the EU ministerial on enlargement in Luxembourg and a CEI ministerial in Karlovy Vari, the Czech Republic. In a surprise move, Minister of Education and Sports Slavko Gaber tendered his unconditional resignation from the post.
