More Than 25 Percent of Women in Legislative Bodies in B-H

Jointly and supported by the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), women in Bosnia-Herzegovina managed last year to attain a great change in the election system in Bosnia-Herzegovina on the basis of which at least three women who were trying to win a seat in the federal parliament or the parliaments of the entities were placed in the first ten places in the national lists. This was the first greater step towards enhancing greater equality of sexes in politics which is the result of the 'Women in Politics' programme that was established under the auspices of the section for democratization at the OSCE mission in Sarajevo, representative of OSCE and manager of the aforementioned programme Mary Ann Rukavina told a news conference on Monday.
