Kucan: Slovene N-Plant Should not Affect Relations with Austria

Slovene President Milan Kucan said he understood Austria's wish to live in a nuclear-free environment after talks with his Austrian counterpart Thomas Klestil in Vienna on Thursday. Slovenia shares that wish, but both countries differ on the issue because of the Krsko Nuclear Power Plant, President Kucan said. He wished the issue would not be used as a topic in the Austrian election campaign or become a disturbing element in the bilateral relations.
