BS Council Stays by the Established Goals of its Monitary Policy

Ljubljana, 28 July - The Bank of Slovenia Council (BS) at Tuesday's meeting, among other things, assessed the short term goals of monitary policy for the year 1999, which was passed at the 22 January meeting of this year. It was ascertained that some presumptions which were set for this year, are temporarily out of projection (GDP growth, balance of payments, capital cash flow). As a result of these changes, the growth of the M3 money aggregate is a little under its goal; The M3 money aggregate from its starting point to its first quarter (April - June 1999) grew by 7.2 percent For now the BS Council still stands by its goal of between 16 and 24 percent, as was reported by the BS.
