The Sale of Beer has not Increased since Last Year

The two largest Slovene breweries - Union and Lasko - have produced more than 100 million litres of beer this year. The Lasko brewery has recorded a 10 percent drop in sales over last year, the Ljubljana brewery sold about the same amount of beer as last year. Sales of alcoholic beverages, beer included, has been on decline for some years in Slovenia. That given, Slovene brewers do not expect an increase in demand in the second half of 1999.
