Radovljica, 14 August - CULTURE/FESTIVAL/RADOVLJICA
The 17th Radovljica Festival will start on Saturday evening in Radovljica, about 50 kilometers northwest of Ljubljana. To run through 25 August, the festival will feature ten concerts by prominent Slovene and foreign soloists and groups. According to artistic director Tjasa Krajnc, the programme of contrasting contents, spanning over ten centuries, is balanced in terms of vocal and instrumental performances, presenting Renaissance, Baroque and contemporary masterpieces. It will also include pieces by contemporary composers written for old instruments such as Roman buccinae, Renaissance trumpets, clavirorganum, lute and harpsicord.
