Ljubljana, 14 August - Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek, who is recovering from a malignant kidney surgery in home care, received a letter from U.S. President Bill Clinton who expressed his thanks for Slovenia's support and assistance in settling the Kosovo crisis. Drnovsek congratulated George Robertson upon his appointment as NATO Secretary General. Slovenia celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Geneva Conventions. Another batch of 150 Kosovo refugees returned to their homes from Slovenia.
