Ljubljana, 17 August - The economic findings regarding industrial manufacturing and exports are not encouraging. The foreign trade deficit has drastically increased. Some analysts believe that this is a temporary problem. Some believe that the negative balance in trade is due to the increase of imports (particularly automobiles), due to the introduction of the new value-added tax. Less convincing is that some industrial companies held back exports before the introduction of VAT, as this has no bearing on exports, writes Dnevnik on Tuesday.
