The U.S. Central Bank raised two main interest rates for a quarter of the percentage point for the second time in the last two months, thus adding a bit of coolant to the U.S. economic machine, which has otherwise marked the ninth successful year of economic growth. Such acts are in accordance with the philosophy of Alan Greenspan who claims that stable prices and low inflation contribute the most to a long-term economic growth.
