The First Steam Generator on its Way to Krsko

The first steam generator to be used in the upgrading of Krsko Nuclear Power Plant (NEK) departed from the port of Koper at 11.35 a.m. on Monday, after its journey had been postponed due to bad weather. The transport is scheduled to arrive at Crni Kal (20 km north of Koper) at 5.35 p.m., where it will stay for the night.*** The traffic will be heavily obstructed during the transportation since at some road stretches no bypasses are possible. The roadblocks are expected to last up to two hours at most. The transportation of steam generators is carried out by the Austrian transportation company Felbermayr. The first generator is scheduled to arrive at Krsko on 6 September. The second one will depart from the port on 13 September and is due in Krsko on 20 September.
