The unification of the Slovene Christian Democrates (SKD) and the Slovene People's Party (SLS) is proceeding in a way which increasingly resembles a subalpine polka with only carnations missing, but even those are very likely to appear. If the two parties actually unite, a very strong bloc of Slovene traditionalism will emerge, the successful ruling of which depends on whether the two parties know what they actually want: implementation of their political programmes or merely power-sharing, writes Delo on Tuesday.
