Truckers' Strike Cannot be Justified, Says the Government

There are not grounds for the strike by Slovene truckers scheduled for 6 September, Finance Minister Mitja Gaspari told the press Thursday after the first government session after holidays. He said the government had done all it could. Similarly, Transport Minister Anton Bergauer said there were no outstanding issues that might lead to a roadblock. Bergauer added that another announced strike, that of flight controllers was also unjustifiable. He added that given the current legislation the demands of the flight controllers' trade union were impossible to meet.
