Petition of SNS Prior to the Visit of Pope John Paul II

The Slovene National Party (SNS) will start gathering signatures of support for the petition with which they want to prevent the restitution of Betnava Castle and several other buildings in the area of Maribor to the Roman Catholic Church. The ten-day action of gathering signatures will start on Friday, 10 September, in the centre of Maribor, president of SNS Zmago Jelincic and vice-president Saso Pece told a news conference on Wednesday. Pope John Paul II will beatify Slovene Bishop Anton Martin Slomsek during a High Mass at Betnava Castle near Maribor.
