Scientific Conference at the 80th Anniversary of Prekmurje's Unification with Slovenia

Murska Sobota, 9 September - PREKMURJE/SLOVENIA/ANNIVERSARY/SYMPOSIUM
A three-day international scientific conference entitled Prekmurje on the Margin or at the Junction of European Communications started in Murska Sobota, northeast, on Thursday. The conference is organised by the Provincial Museum of Murska Sobota and the Scientific Institute at the Ljubljana Faculty of Arts to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the unification of Prekmurje with Slovenia. The opening speech held by Slovene President Milan Kucan was followed by a performance by actor Dario Varga, who revived the memory of the historical events of May 1919 by citing the words of Vilmus Tkalec.
