A Conference on Ecological Dangers in SE Slovenia Begins Friday

In Slovenia there are 230 wells and other abandoned mining buildings which are posing an ecological danger of international dimensions to the people and the surrounding areas. The majority of the mining buildings, built in the past 60 years by domestic and foreign firms, is on very densely populated areas of northeastern Slovenia. This ecological danger will be discussed at a meeting of experts from Slovenia, Austria, Hungary and Croatia which will take place on Friday, the Lendava-based company Nafta Lendava reported on Thursday.
