Over 8,800 deals totalling SIT 5.7 billion (about US$ 30.6 m) were carried out at the Ljubljana Stock Exchange this week. Daily turnover was over SIT 1 billion all days of the week except Friday. Trading at the official stock exchange market amounted to SIT 3 billion (US$ 16.1m), and the remaining SIT 2.7 billion (US$ 12.9m)) of deals were made with securities traded in the free market. The actual market turnover this week was in fact much lower as 37 deals in lots were reported amounting to SIT 2.4 billion, and there was also a substantial number of application deals. The SBI share index of the LSE gained 21.29 points to 1952.79 points this week, and the privatisation investment fund (PIF) stock index PIX went up by 4.1 percent or 57.26 points to 1386.51 points. A small rise of 0.17 points was also reported for the BIO bond index which closed the week at 206.61 points.
