Weekly Review of Slovene Economy from September 4 through 10
Ljubljana, 12 September - Judging from the pace of economic developments this week, holidays are now indeed over. On Monday, traffic was hampered in parts of the country as the truck drivers trade union SAS put up road blocks to protest nonimplementation of the signed agreements with the government concerning the lack of financial discipline and the process of granting truck driver licences and transport permits. Following hours of talks between SAS and government negotiators at Trojane, an agreement was reached that satisfied both sides. The story is not yet over, however, as the agreement is opposed by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia and the Chamber of Small Business.
