Shea: Slovenia's Membership in NATO Certain, But not the Date
Brussels, 15 September - Slovenia will certainly become a NATO member and is making a good progress in that direction, the question remains when this will happen. The answer will be clearer in 2001, when the next NATO summit is scheduled. At the time, or 2002 at the latest, it will also become clear how many and which countries the Alliance will invite to begin the negotiation on full membership, NATO spokesman Jamie Shea said in an interview with Slovene journalists in Brussels.
