Ljubljana, 16 September - ART/CHURCH/EXHIBITION
An exhibition 'The Treasures of Slovene Churches - the Art and Craft of Goldsmiths' will be opened by Slovene President Milan Kucan at the Ljubljana National Gallery on Thursday. Marjetica Simoniti, the author of the exhibition, will talk about displayed articles and Ljubljana Bishop Franc Rode will hold an official address. The exhibition includes 194 exhibits, products of goldsmiths and belt-makers from Ljubljana, Maribor and Celje as well as from other European centres, which will be displayed until 19 December. The articles represent most typical and perfected works of goldsmiths, which were preserved on the Slovene territory in the period from 13th century to the 1930s.
