Ljubljana - A Separate Region in Talks with the EU

Brussels, 16 September - Slovenia has been considering the possibility of gaining the status of a separate region for the capital of Ljubljana and its surroundings in the membership talks with the EU on the regional policy and structural funds from which less developed regions receive money, a member of the Slovene negotiating team, Igor Strmnsnik, said after Thursday's bilateral screening of national legsilation.
