Motorway Toll Rises by Nine Percent, Government Decides

Ljubljana, 16 September - GOVERNMENT/SESSION
The government took a decision to rise the motorway toll by nine percent as of 1 October. While the toll should have gone up by 20 percent on 1 June as stipulated in the national motorway construction programme, the government then decided to avoid it due to the introduction of VAT, Minister of Transport and Communications Anton Bergauer explained after the session. The resulting lack of funds amounting to SIT 150 million (DM 1,5 million) a month will have to be compensated for through smaller price rises through a longer period of time.
