"Every saint has a special meaning for a nation and an individual. I consider the beatification of Bishop Anton Martin Slomsek not only as a recognition of his personal "saintness" and virtues before the universal Church and the entire world, but also a recognition of all those spiritual, religious, moral, cultural and national values from which the Slovene nation has emerged," Bishop of Maribor Franc Kramberger told STA a couple of days before the beatification of Slomsek and the Pope's visit to Slovenia.
