Potocnik Meets Lombardero as Screenings Conclude

The head of Slovenia's team negotiating on membership with the EU, Janez Potocnik, visited Brussels upon the conclusion of screenings at which membership candidates and EU officials have been examining the harmonisation of national laws with the Union's acquis since April 1998. Potocnik and the EU's chief negotiator with Slovenia, Jaime Garcia Lombardero, on Friday talked about the course of the negotiations and plans for the future, particularly in the light of 30 September, when the Union holds a preparatory negotiation meeting with the membership candidates.
