President Kucan on Pope John Paul II's Visit to Slovenia

President Milan Kucan said in a statement for Radio Slovenia he is looking forward to the visit of Pope John Paul II because of the aim of this visit, the beatification of Bishop Anton Martin Slomsek, and the significance of this act for the Slovenes. According to Kucan, Pope John Paul II is one of the greatest personalities in the second half of the century. Slovene president said that Bishop Anton Martin Slomsek is a distinctly positive personality and also has such an influence upon our consciousness.
