Agriculture - The Toughest Issue in Slovene-Croatian Talks on Croatia's Accession to WTO

Ljubljana, 20 September - Industrial concessions and concessions for agricultural products were the key issues in the Slovene-Croatian negotiations on Croatia's accession to the World Trade Organisation, according to a member of the Slovene negotiating team. However, the talks have been successfully brought to an end and the protocol to that effect will be signed at the beginning of this week, Vojka Ravbar, a state secretary in the Ministry of Economic Relations and Development, and Franc But, a state secretary in the Agriculture Ministry, told the press Monday.*** Ravbar stressed that Croatia's entry into the WTO is in the interest of all countries as it means transparency and control at the level of the organisation and not individual countries.
