Delo: In Urgent Need of Success

Ljubljana, 21 September - The ongoing 54th UN General Assembly session makes a good opportunity for the United Nations to use the success on the Far Eastern island to encourage and conclude several year long and so far unproductive debate on its own reform and find its place in the international politics, which is controlled more and more by regional political, economic, security and interest organisations, such as NATO in Europe. As a result of the growing importance of regional organisations, the UN, such as we know today, will loose on its importance because it will end up solving "crumbs", such as East Timor, Delo writes in Tuesday's issues.
