First International Opera Singers' Competition "Ondina Otta"
Maribor, 21 September - A first international competition of young opera singers will start in Maribor, northeastern Slovenia, on Wednesday. As many as 57 opera singers from 14 countries will participate in the event, which will take place at the Slovene National Theatre in Maribor. The competition was named after Ondina Otta, a well-known soprano and a singing teacher from Maribor, who will act as the chairman of the jury. Prizes will be awarded to the best singers after the closing gala performance of the winners on Sunday.
