Holbrooke Pledges Further Support for Slovenia
New York, 24 September - UN/HOLBROOKE/SLOVENIA
U.S. Ambassador to the UN Richard Holbrooke reiterated "his support for Slovenia as an independent and sovereign state" at a working breakfast with Slovene Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek and Foreign Minister Boris Frlec on Friday. Holbrooke was particularly interested in the opinion of the Slovene officials about the situation in the Balkans and on the territory of former Yugoslavia. He was hopeful that Slovenia would become a full EU member as soon as possible.
