August Unemployment 1.1 Percent Less Than July

Ljubljana, 28 September - According to the Unemployment Agency for the Republic of Slovenia the number of unemployed has fallen in August and with the exception of July 1999 has fallen since November 1998. There were 116,764 registered unemployed people in Slovenia at the end of August, which is the least since August 1996. From July to August, the number of unemployed has fallen by 1,358 or 1.1 percent. On average, there were 120,946 people unemployed for the first eight months of the year.
