An International Conference on EU Enlargement Begins in Slovenia

Ljubljana, 2 November - A two day international parliamentary conference dealing with Slovenia and other EU candidates' efforts to join the EU and focussing on the role of parliaments in EU enlargement has started in Ljubljana on Tuesday. The conference, which is sponsored by Sweden, is being held less than a month after the EU released its progress reports and more than a month before the EU Helsinki summit at which the 15-nation bloc will debate enlargement.
