Parliament Must Have an Active Role in the EU Accession Process

Ljubljana, 2 November - The Slovene parliament has an important role in the process of Slovenia's accession to the EU and that is the proper position, Igor Bavcar, European Affairs Minister and head of the parliamentary foreign relations committee Jelko Kacin said at the introductory part of the international parliamentary conference with the theme Slovenia and Other Candidate Nations on the Way to the EU - and Parliament's role in the EU Accession Process. Anita Gradin, a former European commissioner, and Lars Tobisson, a Swedish legislator and the head of the European affairs committee, agreed on the importance of the parliament's support in the process.
