Yugoslavia's Successors Seek Support for a Resolution on FRY's Status in the UN
New York, 6 November - Slovenia's Ambassador to the UN Danilo Tuerk has confirmed reports stating four countries successors to the former Yugoslav federation are drafting a UN resolution on Yugoslavia's status in the organisation. Presenting the work of the UN Security Council during Slovenia's presidency in November, Tuerk did not want to specify the issue as the resolution is to be proposed to the General Assembly rather than the Security Council. It is based on the UN General Assembly resolution No. 47/1 from 1992 which deals with the succession of the former Yugoslavia in the UN.
