Franco Juri Receives Spain's Highest Decoration

Franco Juri, a state secretary in the Slovene foreign ministry, has received the Great Cross for Civil Merits, the highest state decoration conferred by Spain, the ministry reported on Monday. At the initiative of the Spanish foreign ministry and the government, the Spanish King, Juan Carlos I, signed a decree on 29 October to confer this high order to Juri, who served as Slovenia's first ambassador to Spain from 1993 to 1997.
