Prime Minister Drnovsek Offers Condolences upon Stukelj's Death

"Stukelj embodied a symbol of the greatest Slovene athlete," Slovene Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek wrote in a letter of condolence sent upon Leon Stukelj's death to his wife and the family. In Drnovsek's view, Slovenia's greatest Olympic champion will remain a role model to all generations and a person Slovenes will keep priding themselves upon. "He will become a legend," said Drnovsek.
