Ribnikar: Privatisation of State-Owned Banks Is a Political Question

The privatisation of the two Slovene state-owned banks, Nova Ljubljanska banka and Nova Kreditna banka Maribor, is mainly a political and demagogic question of who will get the shares of both banks, said Dr Ivan Ribnikar, professor at the Ljubljana Faculty of Economics, at the 28th seminar of Ljubljana economists on Saturday. In democratic countries this can only be a question of who the shares will be sold to and when, he added.
