No Reasons to Close Down Duty-Free Shops, Says GZS Section
Ljubljana, 16 November - SLOVENIA/EU/DUTY-FREE
There are neither legal nor economic grounds to close down duty-free shops at road border crossings before Sovenia has joined the EU. Therefore Slovenia should not yield to pressures coming from Brussels, demanding that the country should abolish duty-free shops before becoming a full EU member, that is as early as 2000. This position was taken on Tuesday by the duty-free shop section at the Slovene Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS).
