Kucan Comments on Slovenia-Holy See Agreement

Ljubljana, 25 November - KUCAN/CHURCH/AGREEMENT
A responsible attitude of the government, which conducts the talks with the Church, would be that all arguments should be thoroughly examined. At the end of the day, the body to be held accountable will be the government as it is the ministers who submit a reached agreement to parliament, said Slovene President Milan Kucan in a response to an open letter written to him and the prime minister on Thursday by a group of mainly Slovene intellectuals calling the officials' attention to the shortages of the agreement between Slovenia and the Holy See on the status of the Roman Catholic Church in Slovenia.
