Convention on Biomedicine and Human Rights Takes Effect

The Convention on Human Rights in Biomedicine entered into force in Slovenia on Wednesday. It is the first internationally binding document intended to protect people from abuse of new technologies in biology and medicine. Its purpose is to protect human dignity and identity, rights and freedoms.
