Slovene Minority in Italy Sends Letter to Leading Officials in Slovenia and Italy
Trieste/Cividale, 4 December - MINORITY/ITALY/PROTECTION/BILL
By passing the global protection bill, Italy would meet minimum civilisational requirements that Europe has established to ensure security, democracy and respect of human rights to its citizens, joint representation of the Slovene ethnic minority in Italy said in a letter to leading Slovene and Italian politicians on Friday. It also said it was hopeful the parliament in Rome would pass the bill early in the year 2000.
