Review of Events Involving Slovenia from 27 November through 3 December
Ljubljana, 4 December - The Foreign Ministry organised three related conferences on the situation in South-East Europe; the conference at Brdo pri Kranju Castle on constitutional and legal aspects of regional stability was attended by Stability Pact Co-ordinator Bodo Hombach, while the Royaumont Initiative Co-ordinator Panagiotis Rumeliotis attended the conference at Bled about the role of local authorities and development of democracy and stabilisation processes in South-East Europe. Speaker Janez Podobnik took part in Brussels in the eight meeting of parliament speakers of the EU membership candidates. Defence Minister Franci Demsar attended a meeting of defence ministers from South-East European countries in Bucharest, and the EAPC session in Brussels. President Milan Kucan met Austria's Parliament Speaker Heinz Fischer. Croatia ratified the bilateral property agreement, and Slovenia introduced a visa regime with Russia.
