Ljubljana, 5 December - The Slovene government adopted Slovenia's platform for full-fledged EU membership negotiations on agriculture, while only a day earlier the parliament, in swift procedure, adopted an amended act on the reorganisation of the veterinary service. This field was thus brought into line with minimum EU standards, redefining the organisation of the veterinary control. The act introduced a pyramid system of responsibility, with the veterinary administration (VURS) becoming the central veterinary institution in the country.
