Gaspari and Jansa on Bank Privatisation
Ljubljana, 8 December - The finance minister, Mitja Gaspari and the leader of the opposition SDS, Janez Jansa presented their views on the privatisation of Slovenia's largest state-owned banks, namely Nova Ljubljanska banka (NLB) and Nova kreditna banka Maribor (NKBM). While Jansa thought that the money from the sale of state-owned stakes in these banks could not pay for their past rehabilitation, Gaspari maintained that there is a high chance that that might happen. The officials spoke to Slovene national radio on Tuesday evening.
