Slovenia Will Not Become a EU Memeber Before 2003, Potocnik Says
Bled, 10 December - The European Union is expected to be ready for enlargement by the end of 2002, when the negotiations with the candidate countries are to conclude. Slovenia will become a member in 2003 or 2004, the head of Slovenia's core negotiation team with the EU told Slovene bankers gathered for their annual meeting at the lakeside resort of Bled.
