Voting on a UN Resolution on Belgrade Expected for Monday

Four of the successor states to former Yugoslavia are currently involved in intensive efforts to harmonise on a draft UN resolution that would leave no doubt that the former federation disintegrated into five equal states and that the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) should seek its own membership in the United Nations. The UN General Assembly is expected to vote on the resolution proposed by Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Macedonia on Monday, 13 December, except in case of an unexpected difficulty, diplomatic sources say.
