Review of Events Involving Slovenia from 4 through 10 December
Ljubljana, 11 December - Last week Slovenia joined other countries in expressing concern over the developments in Chechnya. It called on Russia to try to find a peaceful solution to the crisis. Slovenia has been very active on the international scenethis year, Foreign Minister Boris Frlec stressed as he resumed the work oh his department. Slovenia and the EU provisionally closed the negotiations on the Economic and Monetary Union in the fourth round of ministerial talks, which means altogether nine chapters have been temporarily concluded so far with 14 out of 29 chapters of the acquis still on the table. The EU summit in Helsinki was joined by Prime Minister Drnovsek and Foreign Minister Frlec.
